OHSET 2023

In Spring of 2023, my camera has turned back to the horses after a photography hiatus for most of 2022. It is a blessing to capture the Oregon High School Equestrian Team Central District meets held at Brasada Ranch/Rim Rock Riders Club this year. Having participated in school sports from the 3rd grade onward, many memories come up for me around my own experiences as a competitive athlete. The many lessons I learned in sports are applied to my life and business today, especially those lessons around confidence and visualization, finishing strong despite setback, and having the courage to get out there in the arena of the unknown.

I am so inspired by these young adults leading 1200lb animals around poles, barrels, and other obstacles. The language between horse and human is a special one, and these kids are speaking it fluently and beautifully. Ride on!
